Seeing one persons, or one organizations perspective on a subject all the time isn’t really a healthy way to get information.  This is when bias ideas form, and is unhealthy for a community.  This is something that we over look on blogs.  Most of the time, a blog is written by one person, and they are expressing their views and ideas.  Sometimes, it is a good thing to mix up the routine of your blog.  You can do this in multiple ways.

Earlier last month (December), the latest release of WordPress (version 2.7) became available for download. If you have downloaded it already, you have have noticed some interesting cosmetic changes to the admin panel as shown in the image below.

Below are a few insights of the new version, and would be a good read for those who have not yet made the switch:

It is very easy for bloggers to get writer’s block, especially if you keep up a daily blogging routine and all of a sudden it hits you–the brain freeze of “What do I write about next?” Some NaBloPoMo writers may relate to this premise.

I have provided a few tips below on how you can overcome this writing hiccup…

  • Know Your Audience – If your blog is focused around one centered idea or product, surround yourself with media, research, with regard to the idea/product. Social media/networking groups are also a great way to get to know audiences of different aspects of your idea.
  • Review Trends – While researching your idea/product, seek and review trends of what other bloggers are talking about. Maybe one blogger hit a good aspect of your idea, but is missing a key component that he/she did not discuss in their article that you would like to elaborate. This gives your blog an advantage with regard to the specified trend.
  • Backtrack and Pace Yourself – Go back and review your last 5-10 posts. Have you posted about what you wanted to express? Have you missed anything that you wanted to write about but got side-tracked? If you are a goal/schedule minded person, you may want to chart out a calendar or “To-Do” list of what you are wanting to blog about in the short-time future.

These are just a few common, and well-received tips. Feel free to post your strategy/ies for overcoming writer’s block in your blogging efforts.

Just so you guys know, I will probably not be posting so much on this blog in the foreseeable future. As I’ve said in previous posts, I’ve been extremely busy, and I have other projects that require more of my attention.  That’s not to say that I’m gone for good, but my co-worker Chad will be taking over most of the posting here.

I hope you all welcome his writing as much as you’ve welcomed mine. I have enjoyed conversing with the PureBlogging.com community, and if there were more hours in the day, I would continue to do so, but i’m sure you understand.

Chad will continue to talk about blogging though, so don’t go anywhere.

I’ll see you around. By the way, you will still be able to read a great deal of my work at WebProNews.com and SmallBusinessNewz.com. I often talk about blogging and blog industry news at these sites as well (not to mention the other writers on these sites).
