I am honored to blog here in his stead, but be on the lookout for occasional posts from him on here in the future.

Guess what? Blogging has it’s own month! If you are familiar with National Novel Writing Month (commonly known as NaNoWriMo), blogging now has it’s turn! National Blog Posting Month (nicknamed NaBloPoMo) is a challenge to write one post a day for the rest of the month. Are you up to this challenge?

There are various prizes (now I have your attention?) to be awarded to bloggers that win this contest–mostly donated by others that are contributing to this project.

If any of you out there are participating in this challenge, make yourself known by leaving a comment. It will be interesting to see how many readers of this blog are contenders of NaBloPoMo.

The draw to Flock as opposed to other browsers is its social integration, which includes that for MySpace, Facebook, Digg, YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket and Twitter. Mike Sachoff talks a bit about it here.

what’s probably most intersting to bloggers though, is that Flock also includes a built-in blog editor, which is compatible with TypePad, Blogger, WordPress, Blogsome, LiveJournal, and Xanga (Flock recommends WordPress, TypePad or Blogger).

According to Flock:

Once configured, Flock remembers your username and password for one or more blog accounts. To confirm that your account information has been saved, open the accounts and services menu by clicking on the Display Accounts and Services button in the top bar. The button is represented by a picture of a key. If the account was added successfully, the account will appear in the My Accounts section of the Accounts and Services sidebar.

Your browser can also automatically publish blog posts to a notification service, such as Technorati. A notification service alerts people when you post a new blog.

I haven’t used Flock yet, but I have to admit it sounds kind of cool. They have more details about the blogging capabilities here.

What are your thoughts on Flock? Anybody used it for blogging?

What about money? Everybody likes money, right?

Here are the rules:

Write a “How to” post. No matter what your niche is, you should be able to come up with a “how to” post… “How To Start A Blog” or “How To Find A Date” or “How To Paint Your Toenails.” You get the idea. Please only submit new posts… old posts will not be eligible for prizes.

Please consider putting a link back to this post so that your readers know you’re participating. It is not required – but it would be appreciated to help spread the word.

Use the contact form and send me the URL of the post, the title and your name.

Once the final list of entries is published, you should browse through them and post a list of your favorites. You can pick a top 10, top 5, top 3… whatever you feel like. (Please don’t include your own entry on this list.)

Points will be awarded to the entries selected on your list of favorites and the authors of the 3 entries receiving the most points will win $100 each.

Entries can be submitted until midnight of next Tuesday, May 27. I’ll post the list of entries on Wednesday, May 28 and then give you guys a few days to post your lists before announcing the winners.

And there you have it. You even get to decide the winners!

Good luck and have fun!

I think it’s time to have another little contest. What do you think?

As of today, 3335 comments have been posted on PureBlogging.com and we should hit the 3500 comment mark very soon so I thought I would give you 2 chances to earn a little cash and some Entrecard credits…

PART 1 (Comment # 3500):
Whoever posts comment # 3500 (excluding me, our staff writers, and trackbacks) will win $100 CASH via PayPal and 500 Entrecard credits. During this time, comments will be strictly moderated and short irrelevant comments will be deleted. That means no comments like “Hey, nice site.” or “Yeah, me too.”, or “You’re so cool!”, etc. Only comments that contribute to the discussion will be counted.

PART 2 (Spread the Word):
Anyone who writes a blog post about this contest will be entered into a random drawing for $100 CASH via PayPal and 500 Entrecard credits.

If you decide to enter Part 2 of the contest, please keep in mind that your post must be a new post and cannot be added to any other post. The post must contain a link back to PureBlogging, this post, and mention that I am giving away $100 CASH and 500 Entrecard Credits to the person who posts comment #3500 and anyone who blogs about the contest will be entered in a random drawing for another $100 CASH prize and 500 Entrecard credits.

Here is an example of what I am looking for:

PureBlogging.com is holding 2 separate cash giveaway contests this month. They are awarding $100 CASH and 500 Entrecard credits to whoever posts blog comment #3500. They are also randomly drawing a name for another $100 CASH plus 500 Entrecard credits and all you have to do to enter is blog about the contest. Visit PureBlogging.com for some great blogging tips and to find more information about how you can win.

This contest is open to everyone. It doesn’t matter where you are or what language your blog is in. You can enter one part of the contest or both. If you are entering part 2 of the contest, please make sure you email me the link to your blog post.

This contest is being held until we receive comment #3500, which should be sometime in the next two weeks. Good luck!

Update: PureBlogging.com staff writers are eligible to enter part 2 of the contest.

The awards are currently open for nominations and will be until the 11th January. If you could head over and nominate Pure Blogging, it would be greatly appreciated!

Just the ocean, lots of sand, a little sun, <s>a few</s> several adult beverages, and no distractions (no mobile phone, no laptop)… it was fantastic! I highly recommend it.

By the way, I’m still working my way through all the emails so don’t worry if you haven’t received a reply… I’ll get to it sometime today.

Now, about that little contest…

Judging by the number of entries that were received, I’m guessing that most of you were not aware that there was contest. Or maybe you knew there was a contest but you didn’t need that $200 prize.

Anyway, there were only ten entries. Yep… ten. So if you entered, your odds of winning were really, really good. I took all ten names and dropped them in the hat and had a friend pick the winner.

And the winner is… Navjot Singh from NSpeaks!

Congratulations Navjot, your prize is on the way!

Contest Reminder
Don’t forget that sometime before August 31st, one lucky PureBlogging subscriber will win $200 in cash! All you have to do is either subscribe via email or RSS and look for a secret message that will appear at the bottom of one of our blog posts. The message will only be shown to those viewing via RSS or email and will replace the normal “Sponsored By” message that follows some of our posts. Good Luck!

Thank You Chris Garrett!
Chris Garrett had a little competition to see who could refer the most members to his new Authority Blogger Forums. Thanks to a lot of help from you guys, PureBlogging came out on top. The prize was a guest post written by Chris and a mention on his blog.

Thank You Brandon Hopkins!
Brandon held a contest where he gave away an iPod Shuffle in a random drawing. All you had to do was link to his site and to his sponsor’s site and you were in the drawing. I must be doing something right lately because PureBlogging was again selected as the winner!

Weekend Links will be a little late today but I’m working on it… don’t worry.
