I’ve never used blogger, as I’ve mainly been on wordpress since the beginning, but judging from the website, alot of themes look absolutely stunning! And I would be really proud to have them on my website =D

Plenty of non monetized sites use Blogger. They will stand to benefit as their traffic grows and they need to monetize and add features.

Of course content is king, but nothing wrong with some good eye candy! Some of these themes look really well made and professional.
Yes eye candy helps build a good impression. People are much more willing to revisit a website that looks nice. They are also more willing to trust a good looking site with a purchase.
i use wordpress, but i thing blogger is easier for beginners

@James – blogger is still free and you can build a good blog there, then use it to spread some link juice around – even to your own blog network.
And while content is indeed king – there’s no reason not to look good too!

Blogger does lack the variety of themes that you get with Wordpress – but this is a good start.

I have to say I’m a WordPress fan too but this is a great development for Blogger users. I agree that people will love you because of your content but some people may not get as far as reading if your layout is ugly and not user friendly.

I use Wordpress currently but have used Blogger in the past. I like these themes and enjoy the simplicity of Blogger but have found Wordpress to be better for long-term blogging success. I also have found that Wordpress users are really loyal (as evidenced by this post’s comments).

Yes I remember the old themes that blogger offered. There was so little variety that you were bound to have the same theme as dozens of other blogs.

I love Blogger because your new blog will be indexed so fast, but then again Wordpress is pretty fast too.
Blogger has always been lacking good quality themes
Re: Love Graphics – yes, blogger is very fast…Wordpress would probably vary due to spidering/crawling rates. Overall I think Blogger would be a bit quicker…just my opinion.

i think creating our own theme is better than using existing themes.
That kind of platforms are useful for people not interested in the technical aspects of creating a blog. If you’re interested only in content, Blogger, Wordpress, or any similar one, are very good alterantives.
Themes are a great idea for blogs. It makes it very easy to change the appearance of your blog. You don’t need to know how to program or design graphics. It is all point and click. So you have no excuse to not switch from the generic default themes.

I started off my very first blog with blogger, the basics are so user friendly, it is a great place to learn.
Along the way though, I’ve found that the finer tuning is easier to do on Wordpress.
I think its true that many people think they will not customize their blogs, but there are also third party themes and skins available which really make your blog unique and attractive.

An easy search on Google for “Blogger template” will get you a lot template. Don’t know why a lot of them look identical

YEah blogspot / blogger is the great.., this is where the first time i learn to blogging..and starts blogging for the think that i interest of.. an architecture worlds..
Even though I am using Wordpress in majority of my blogs, I still love blogger.com. Already downloaded few themes from bloggerthemes.net. They really have good collection of themes and best part everything is properly categorized and they also have live demo facility which is very helpful. Definitely would try one of these theme in my next project. Thanks.

i used to have a Blogspot blog, but i did never bother to make it look stylish. anyway, it was more like the place i could put my thoughts on different subjects. maybe i shall go back, tune it and proceed blogging there..

I have to say I’m so impressed by those themes. They’re very professional-looking. Definitely this will help many bloggers.
I love how easy it now is to create a great looking blog from scratch. I remember the days when you were stuck with a very generic template unless you were willing to invest money in a custom theme.
These are some blogger templates I created in my free time. Most of the blog layouts work with New Blogger, please revert to Classic Template if you face any problems.
I’ve had a look at Blogger Themes and it’s totally amazing. The themes there are simply great. I would definitely recommend this site to anyone having a blogger account. I myself am going to change my blog’s theme.
It is amazing that some people still choose to use the default themes. I would hate to use a theme that is already on hundreds or thousands of other blogs. Since a blog takes so much effort to maintain, you want to build something that you are proud of. A big part of that is the theme used.
my first online blog was on blogger but i left blogger only for this reason that its theme for free users was very basic, and then i start using wp because it has many varities, However it is a good start for bloggers if a free user too implement these themes on there blogs.
