I’ll keep this brief.
When blogging isn’t necessarily your business, your business should still have a blog.
It provides an openness and transparency that can create trust and respect.
I wrote about this here, and my colleague Jason Miller wrote about it here.
Would you agree that businesses running blogs and openly engaging with customers is a good way to turn negatives into positives? A good way to inspire trust?

I strongly agree with you that company should have their corporate blog as well.Blogging has evolved to become a channel to build authority over a particular niche topic.
It has become a trusted source for many people and corporate companies should definitely take up blogging in their online marketing efforts as well.

I believe that having blogs can make a clear connection between the consumers and the owner.
What you say is completely true because while the business may be the moneymaker, the blog builds the personal relationships which can bring more sales and customers
There are many excellent applications for having a blog imo. You can create one to build trust, credibility and authority. You can build one to create viral content. You can build one as a front to an online endeavor. The beauty of blogs is in the CMS, you can update from anywhere at anytime. Create your own little community. Why would someone not build a blog off a main website, it only helps strengthen your site.
Yes…I think you are right….we can take many benefits plus from blog
I totally agree with you. Blogs has become a standard way of communication with visitors. It’s a best way for businesses also to inform customers of changes and news in their topic area. Also it’s a fastest way to get in touch with visitors. So, blogs are a must these days even for businesses.

Absolutely. No question about it. The old static sites for businesses no longer serve the purpose. A good blog on the other hand, builds strong bridges with customers/clients.

Ever since i got a blog it helped my customers have something to do while at my site and waiting for there order.
Great thing for them to also come back daily.
Agrees on 100%. The trust causes dialogue with the concrete people, instead of with featureless posts
Blogs are a great medium to make your customer base aware of how your company is operating, and how you are going to be operating in the future.
I had been playing with the idea of installing a blog on my site for a while, your articles are the first, which are starting to make me reconsider. I agree that it builds a transparency and respect.
What I find most difficult is striking the balance between the almost conversational, transparent and friendly tone blogs tend to lean towards and the corporate voice inside my head.
Blogs are really good way of easily communicating with your clients. It gives them a place where they can read more about your services, products or simply anything about the business. This makes them more familiar with what you are trying to give them.
Wow I never really thought about that. Are you referring towards small business?
This has to be the BEST post advocating blogging for business that I have read. Thanks.
