Blogging From the Browser | PureBlogging

Flock is a web browser, which is built on Mozilla Firefox, and it has just left beta. The draw to Flock as opposed to other browsers is its social integration, which includes that for MySpace, Facebook, Digg, YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket and Twitter. Mike Sachoff talks a bit about it here.

what’s probably most intersting to bloggers though, is that Flock also includes a built-in blog editor, which is compatible with TypePad, Blogger, WordPress, Blogsome, LiveJournal, and Xanga (Flock recommends WordPress, TypePad or Blogger).

Flock's Blog editor

According to Flock:

Once configured, Flock remembers your username and password for one or more blog accounts. To confirm that your account information has been saved, open the accounts and services menu by clicking on the Display Accounts and Services button in the top bar. The button is represented by a picture of a key. If the account was added successfully, the account will appear in the My Accounts section of the Accounts and Services sidebar.

Your browser can also automatically publish blog posts to a notification service, such as Technorati. A notification service alerts people when you post a new blog.

I haven’t used Flock yet, but I have to admit it sounds kind of cool. They have more details about the blogging capabilities here.

What are your thoughts on Flock? Anybody used it for blogging?

I prefer blogging the old fashioned way :P Though I have to admit that it does sound nice.

Also, another good reason not to use it is that I already have 5 different web browsers installed on my PC (IE6, IE7, FF3, Safari & Google Chrome)

Sounds cool…

Will definitely give it a try though, as Ikki said, I have around 6 browsers on my PC already. Add opera to the above.

Worth giving it a try. Perhaps wait for a while to see if more tech savvy bloggers are happy with it before I plunge in.

I always like performing tasks that are normally outside of the browser, or in a specific section of the browser, instead through an extension of the browser. Firefox extensions make you feel like you are saving time, because you don’t have to switch to a different application to complete a function.

Sounds great. I do blogging in the same way which I did and the most important thing about this browser is good for hsaring and uploading the photos. And I love to use IE7.

Flock is a right choice for blogger. I use Flock to upload photos to Photobucket, communicate in Social network like Digg, Facebook and of course publish new post with it.

Flock is definetely something cool to consider. From what I read it kind of sounds like Digsby but obviously somewhat different. I’ve been using Digsby and it’s pretty useful… Don’t know if Flock might replace it for me.

Truly speaking I never heard of such a browser from firefox. And being a blogger it is worth to give it a try..
