This is a great idea. There are massive amounts of old printed articles that Google can put to use. This is a very clever idea on their behalf. It will be like a library’s newspaper archives, yet easy to reference from your own home.

This is great! I have been waiting for someone to start posting archived newspapers.

If the pages are searchable it will change the way students all over the world do research papers and it will improve blogging and discussion.

Woh, this is a big project. It seems the book may soon no longer be needed!

Sony recently released a digital iBook which can store thousands of novels.

Will these papers be searchable? If so the amount of data on a Google search will be unimagineable.

To be honest, I’m not sure exactly what their strategy is for getting all of this stuff digitized. They must be scanning it in, because they say they’re including all the pictures and ads and everything, but making them searchable is where the tricky part would come in. I’m not entirely clear on how they are going about this.

This is one development that will make life so much easier for so many diverse users like writers, bloggers, researchers, students etc. A great development. Google does come up with winners often don’t they?

google keeps surprising us , I wouldn’t be amazed if they start pulling information for the old archives , a plan is probably on place ..
