I guess you can always go for long term keyword approach with a competitive/large niche.

You brainstorm me something…Usually I always look for some low competitive niche and thought it’s more easier to make money. Seems like I’m wrong yeah you’re right, the potential is difference.

Almost every website I build I look for the angle (niche) and focus on that. Many businesses do all sorts of things and its important to look at what is most profitable and easiest to achieve. Even if there is a lot of competition a site that is a specialist and optimised as a specialist should perform better for that type of niche relative to the generalist.

I’m not really referring to search engine rankings or search engine traffic by that statement. Take for example my primary blog. It’s focused on web design, which is pretty competitive. I’m far from one of the top authorities on the subject, but I’m still able to make money and draw business from the blog. I’m not dominate, but I’m good enough in a popular niche to make some money.

It’s been a long time I never leave comment here CJ is really great. I also take the one of the most crowded niche and promote the product: Weight loss & diet. However, due to the targetted audience and the high commission, I earn well!

It’s interesting that you say there is no need to dominate. Whilst I appreciate that Google is not the only source for searching out there, 40% of all traffic goes to the top terms.
