An end of month recap is a good idea. I suggest focusing more on posts you made through the month to keep vistors on your site. A second list of a few other sites posts would be alright. If you link to a ton of sites, you are directing everyone away from your site. Deeplinking can keep visitors, and if you advertise, can get you more money.
