PureBlogging » Blog Archive » 6 Blogs that Bloggers should Bookmark

You take the time to read about blogging because you want to be better at what you do. Bloggers who want to increase traffic, improve monetization, get ideas for blog posts, network with other bloggers and learn what’s new in the industry usually find that the best resource for them is the blogs written by other bloggers on the topic. That’s probably why you come to Pureblogging and it’s why the name “Problogger” probably means something to you. While those are great places to start, there are also a plethora of other blogs out there that bloggers who want to be on the cutting edge should make sure that they’re reading.

Here are six of the best blogs for bloggers:

1. Independent Publishing News. The articles on this social media blog provide helpful information about web 2.0 technologies that you aren’t going to find on a lot of blogs that are strictly about blogging. The featured posts give you information about video and collaboration technology, social media networking and other important aspects of blogging. This site also offers links to blogging and social media news from around the blogosphere.

2. ChrisG.com: The Business of Blogging and New Media. These are just basic tips into how to blog better and they’re updated daily so you always have something new to take a look at. In other words, this is your basic blog about blogging; it just happens to be one of the better ones out there.

3. BloggingTips.com. This is also a collection of basic posts about blogging but it’s interesting because it’s got regular posts by some of the top bloggers in the business. For example, Deb Ng who publishes the popular Freelance Writing Jobs blog regularly posts thoughts on blogging here. In fact, you can opt to post your own blogging articles here (if you get approval through the site); there’s not compensation but it’s a good network which you can use to generate traffic to your site.

4. Men with Pens. This blog offers a variety of web business tips that aren’t always specific to bloggers but can definitely help a blogger do better online. The articles are categorized into the general topics of “better writing”, “better blogging”, “better design” and “better business” to help you easily find the kinds of tips and posts that you’re looking for.

5. Killer Startups. This site isn’t specifically about blogging but is a great site for bloggers to check in on regularly for a few different reasons. First of all, many of these startups are offering products and services that are useful to bloggers and which are generally free or low cost since they’re new. Second, you can provide a useful service to your readers by letting them know about the startups relevant to your blog topic. And finally, there’s a lot of creativity and innovation displayed on this site so it’s a good one for just getting some general inspiration.

6. Blog for Jobs. This one isn’t updated regularly so it’s one that you can subscribe to and forget about until you get a notification but it offers something interesting that isn’t on the web elsewhere. It’s a blog about people who have started their own blogs in an effort to get a job – and been successful at it. There are some great stories that help bloggers learn how to access the power of their own blogs to get themselves additional work in the business.

Question of the Day: What are your favorite blogs about blogging (besides Pureblogging of course)?
