I’m sure most of you have at least heard of the new Advertorial Service offered by ReviewMe. Basically, it is a paid review where the advertiser gets to write the review instead of the blogger. I would like to know how you feel about this new service.

I’m curious to come back when there are more votes to see what other people think about this. I would have to really really really agree with the product and the content of the ad to let someone provide me with the exact text to be placed on my blog.
I wouldn’t do sponsored posts (on The Gospel, anyway. Probably do it on Fair-review), even then, I’d write them.
I think that if they’re paying me this money, the decent thing they could do is let me write the bloody thing.
I’d do it only if the product benefits my readers.
same here ^_^
Agreed
I only will review gadget related product or page, or games that fit my blog
Advertorials take away a neutral / fresh opinion of a product or service, but I think I might allow it if it benefits my readers. Maybe. I’m picky.
I wouldn’t want another person/advertiser writing post for my blog at all. It is sort of like those ads in magazines where it looks like an article but it is actually an ad. If your blog is only about reviewing products maybe it would be okay, but I think it might take away from the personal touch some blogs have.
Interesting… I have a couple of orders waiting for me to accept/decline and I had decided to decline both but I was curious to see what other people thought. I’ve got another 48 hours to decide so keep those votes coming.
It is one thing to have a guest blogger speaking for you, but to have someone pay to put words in your mouth – that is something else.
I think that if you can review the post and then decide that would be one thing. Also, I feel the mark-up on such a review should be double your going rate.
It looks like the vote is leaning toward if it benefits your readers. Hopefully they will rewrite each and every single new post. If anybody does go through with it, let us know how it goes and if you can at least edit/let them know if anything needs to be changed. Interested to see how this goes. I still think it is like those magazine ads in disguise.
“the advertiser gets to write the review instead of the blogger”…..this just sounds like the advertiser is writing ad copy. What does the blogger even have to do with it?
I don’t think I would do this because the post would appear to have been written by me, on my blog, while I had no input at all.
Curious to hear more from those that would use this service. Also anybody know what poll script this is? It looks pretty awesome, I’d like to use it too.
It’s a WordPress plugin called WP-Polls written by Lester Chan you can find it and several other cool plugins here:

David always has such great toys.
I feel like Jack Nicholas in the first modern Batman – Where does he get those wonderful toys?
I was wondering about that, too, thanks for the link to it David!
I am really not a fan of this – sure, it is great for those that want to make a few bucks from their blogs but for people like me, losing such editorial control would be a definite no-no.

I agree… I declined both orders and opted out of the Advertorial program.
has anyone had success with this product … was looking into it, however not sure?

I think it’s a great idea, personally. As long as I get paid I don’t mind what they say in their reviews. Lol. At least it’s still up to me whether I want to publish it or not…

If it’s related to my readers, I’ll accept it.

I would do it. Anything for a buck. Integrity is overrated.
