I've found that visitors have come to my site through the blogcarnival.com's cache because their cache of my post ranked higher than my original post in google. In any case the carnival links back to your original post, which tells the search engines that your post is the original. My advice would be to test it yourself and see if you have any problems. Keep track of which carnivals and which posts you use. A few weeks later check to see if your post is indexed and try to see if it ranks ahead of the carnival.
