I think companies will only increase the amount of attention they pay to the social networking aspects of their online presence.

User-generated content and online communities are growing at a phenomenal rate and are only set to become more influential in the future. Perhaps AOL is recognising this trend.

I'm not sure if I like it. When I go out searching for news I really only want to see the headlines and determine if I want to read it or not.

Of course, very rarely actually look at blogs - only to comment (speaking of which, a plugin for Firefox that provided the ability to read and submit comments in Google Reader would be the shit).

The only time I ever visit a blog and scroll through the posts is if I actually want to visualize the blog chronologically. If I'm visiting a new blog and want to see how often they post or if they stick to a specific niche.

For news... I think Yahoo or Google News fit my needs - highlight a few of the top news, but for the most part - headline me.
