When David first started looking for guest bloggers here at PureBlogging, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. I didn’t think I would make a lot of income off of the opportunity, I was mainly doing it to build my reputation as a blogger, better my writing skills, and get some inbound links to my blogs (thanks to David’s byline policy).

This is reason enough for me to continue blogging here at PureBlogging but after reviewing my AdSense earnings for the past month I’ve come across another great reason to continue: PureBlogging has increased my AdSense revenue by 18% and I’ve only submitted a few posts thus far!

For those of you who rely on AdSense as your sole means of income, becoming a guest blogger is a great opportunity to get your ads out there across some new domains. AdSense only brings in 0.6% of my income but its hard to ignore that 18%, especially if I didn’t have such great sponsors.

You don’t have to wait on the blogs to come to you either. Feel free to submit a guest post to any blog you come across with a timeline for use (example: “If you would like to use this post, please do so before XX:XX PST. At this time I’ll be submitting it to YYY.com if it hasn’t been used.”). Albeit, this sort of posting probably won’t bring you any income but it will definitely generate some links to your site - and who doesn’t like traffic?

Guest Blogging is a great way to boost your reputation, improve your blogging skills, and possibly fatten your wallet as well. All without any expense (except for time) on your behalf.

So people are clicking through to your site from this one or is it your adsense code, not David’s, on the ads for this post?

Yep, like Michael says below… the author’s adsense code is displayed when viewing an individual post and my code is displayed on all other pages.

@Rhys
The way David is running his guest blogging program - when viewing a single post, the AdSense ads are the author of the post’s not his.

That is what I am referring to in this article.

I wish I could say the same, Michael. I think I may have gotten a nickel or so :(

Sorry… :sad:

I really hate to hear that. I was hoping everyone would benefit from participating. Any ideas on how to improve the system?

I see the blogging community as a massive networking opportunity and you’re right, guest blogging is a perfect fit for this concept. I should get off my duff and start offering to contribute more to the sites I love, and not just for the money. I just like the connection it makes me feel.

I would like to do more but it’s tough to find the time. With everything else that’s going on I’m having trouble just keeping up with PureBlogging these days.

I’ve been trying to invite guest bloggers, but everyone seems to be doing their own thing or are too busy.

You’re not alone, I’ve had a few people tell me the same thing. I guess that I just got lucky.

I love guest bloggers! Okay, I have only had one so far, but I welcome them. They bring fresh content and a different attitude.
If anyone wants to guest blog on my blog, feel free to contact me! ;)
