Top 5 New Blogs for Bloggers | PureBlogging

Hello, my name is David and I’m a feedaholic.

There are currently over 300 feeds in my Google Reader and I religiously read probably 150 of those feeds everyday. Funny thing is this is a recent development because until about 3 months ago I had never even used a feed reader. What can I say…? I’m hooked.

The good thing is, my new addiction helps me keep up with a lot of great blogs so I thought I would list a few blogs that I believe can help you become a better blogger. We all know about the established blogs (ProBlogger, John Chow, Quick Online Tips, etc.) but what about the new guys?

These blogs are all less than a year old and have already established themselves as great resources for the aspiring blogger. Take a few minutes to check them out… I bet you’ll be hooked too.

Here are my favorites in no particular order:

  • Daily Blog Tips - My favorite blog about blogging. Not only is Daniel a really nice guy but he truly understands what it takes to be a successful blogger and shares that knowledge everyday.
  • Dosh Dosh - If you are looking to make money with your blog you have to start with Dosh Dosh. In addition to the wealth of information on blogging, you will also find discussions on affiliate marketing, get-paid-to programs, advertising networks and social media monetization.
  • Net Business Blog - Although not specifically geared toward blogging, NBB still provides plenty of tips for bloggers. Matt also provides pointers on all other facets of online business.
  • Chris Garrett - Chris is an internet marketing consultant, writer, coach, trainer, web geek, and amateur photographer but somehow still finds time to dispense some amazing blogging advice and internet marketing tips. In fact, you may already know Chris from ProBlogger, CopyBlogger, or one of the many other places where he has contributed in the past.
  • BlogTalks - He may only be 17 years old but Thilak Raj, the creator of Tech-Buzz, has already found fame as a successful blogger. At BlogTalks you will find blogging tips, as well as, discussions on Wordpress, Wordpress plugins, and other blogging tools.

What are some of your favorite blogs for bloggers?

I guess PureBlogging is not included on the list because you are a modest guy! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, David and Martin!

I love how you’ve placed the Adsense link units right above the post. Nice ad placement. :)

How did you get yourself into the habit of using the reader? I have a yahoo reader hooked up, but have not yet gotten into the habit of looking at it daily.

I have been hearing good things about the google reader.

Well, I started by plugging a few of my favorite feeds in and started checking a couple times a day. Before long I was adding new feeds just about everyday and now my feed reader has become one of the the first things I check in the morning. I’ll also check in several times during the day.

Hey… your feed is included so you’re part of my problem.

I’ve always visited a lot sites everyday and I do a lot skimming in the reader too so it’s not really that bad.

If a post phrase or title catches my eye, then I skim it; if it appeals, then I read it. That’s usually how I read.

David,

It’s incredibly ironic that you posted this on the same day I decided to start using Bloglines. I didn’t read it until today, though, so I can’t credit you with the inspiration. I had been using a Yahoo widget for my feeds, but I got up to about a dozen and they didn’t synch between work and home. So I gave in and added all my feeds to Bloglines. Since then, I’ve added three more. I can totally understand how you got into the hundreds. There are so many people with so many great things to say. May, I add a blog (I’m not at all affiliated, just a fan) to your list:

Courtney Tuttle.
Courtney’s been making money online for a long time, but just started this blog about blogging about three months ago. He writes really in depth posts that are fun and educational. If you don’t read him already, I highly recommend it.

Hi Sara,

No problem… always feel free to add a link if it is a good resource or adds to the discussion.

And thanks for the suggestion. I have added Courtney to my list of feeds.

Thanks for the list, I’ll check them out. Currently the two blogs which I read the most are John Chow’s blog and Courtney Tuttle’s. They both offer very good advice and tips on how to run blogs and make money online.

I think Dosh Dosh has some of the most original ideas and content. I guess that’s why Maki is on the list.
