Last week, I decided to offer guest bloggers an opportunity to contribute to PureBlogging. Since that post I have received many more requests than expected so I felt it was necessary to develop a few guidelines for guest bloggers to follow.
First of all, guest bloggers will start out as contributors so that all posts can be reviewed for quality before publication. Once I am reasonably sure of what I can expect from a guest blogger, full author rights will be granted. A select few may even be granted editor or administrator rights in the future.
I also plan to limit the number of posts on PureBlogging to approximately 3 to 5 per day. Any more than that and I think we risk overloading readers with too much information. I also want to avoid a situation where there are 10 posts one day and none the next. In the beginning that will be easy because I will be reviewing each article submitted and can schedule them as I see fit. I will work on something to simply things in the future.
Acceptable Content
- Compelling Content: Posts should be informational and offer readers some benefit.
- New Content: Posts should be original content. Please don’t repost articles from your blog.
- Original Content: Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
- Link Love: Feel free to link to other bloggers if appropriate.
- Reviews: Reviews of plugins, themes, or other non-profit services are welcomed.
Unacceptable Content
- Profanity: You can make your point without the use of profanity.
- Adult Topics: Do not submit articles of an adult or sexual nature.
- Poorly Written Posts: I’m not perfect and don’t expect you to be but please proofread your articles. A few misspellings and one or two grammatical errors that can be easily corrected will be acceptable but beyond that I may ask you to correct and resubmit your article.
- Weak Content: Articles need to provide some benefit to the reader and must contain more than just pictures, graphics, or videos.
- Commercial Reviews: Reviews of for profit or ecommerce sites are unacceptable unless it is a paid review.
- Affiliate Links: Please do not use affiliate links in your posts.

It’s reassuring to see that you are taking steps to ensure consistent quality when bringing on guest bloggers.
I look forward to reading some of their articles in the future.

I agree with CBB and I can’t wait to start blogging on this site and be read
Only quality content here
David, Are you worried about getting flooded with too many posts? I guess it doesn’t really matter as long as the content is still top-notch but too many posts can sometimes be a downfall as well.
I don’t plan on letting that happen. My initial plan was to limit the number of posts to about 3-5 per day. Most of the guest bloggers that I have heard from want to contribute a couple of times a month so I’m looking at 2-3 posts per day as a target now. I think that is manageable.
What would you like to see?
Yeah, I wouldn’t want to see too many posts a day as it gets tough to ‘keep up’ and then I end up missing some good information.
I guess 2-3 per day is a good target though.
I guess you’ll have to play with it a bit…
Your guidelines are great, I will have to put a link to them, and may also incorporate some of your guidelines.
Congratulations to those that have submitted, seem like some great posts.
